A few words about photo editing.. One thing we're proud of at MPL is the level of editing that goes into each photo before it's released into a finished gallery. Many sites talk about the size of their archives, but few mention the quality of their photo editing...that's simply because often there's little or no editing to talk about. Photo editing requires finesse, patience, and a surprising amount of time. Too heavy a hand can ruin the photo, too little editing or none at all can leave photos flat and lifeless.

At MPL, all photos are edited by hand, one by one. Horizons are flattened; vertical elements made true. Each image is adjusted for color, contrast, brightness, and sharpness. We don't like blurry photos or digital noise. Frankly, we're surprised so many tolerate it. In production, we do our best to minimize these areas that compromise photo quality. We use low ISO's and adequate light to render the clearest possible photos...both in the field and in the studio. Even that, however, isn't enough to satisfy us. More can be done. The next stop is editing.
